We now have a new mailing list called *New-Stuff (a.k.a. *New, *NS) where anything that's new can be announced. Feel free (or at least cheap) to @subscribe to it so you can keep up with all the new features, new verbs, new things to do, new ways that the Fathers have screwed up your environment, whatever it may be. :)

Allow me to note that this list is open to all, so if you make something new (or bring something to Craggy Island from elsewhere), let the people know, dammit! :)

Here are all the improvement's I've added to the Craggy Player (#374), which everyone is a descendant of...

Verbs added:
- @doss*ier/@file
- @timezone
- @aka/@aliases/@whois

Players also now have a property in their messages list called `hometown', which can be changed by typing `@hometown me is '. This property is used primarily for the `Hometown' line in the @doss verb listed above.

I also added the alias `@addpal ' to the verb `@pal ', so the two can be used interchangeably.

More to come,

Subject: Generic Webook (#430)

The fathers have seen fit to bring forward a copy of the generic Webook from
the old world. This fine object can be used as a multi page note in moo and
has the verbage necessary to render it to the web.

http://necro.mcc.ac.uk:6666/430

The generic webook is fertile, so feel free to

@create #430 called MyWebook

Since it is a child of the $note, the normal methods for @edit MyWebook will
work. Just add **NEW PAGE** to seperate the sections, the first page will be
an abstract of sorts, each of the other pages will be sections with their
first line of the section acting as the table of contents description.

In testing the generic, the Smackout (#797), authored by redlight@mindspring.com,
was brought over from AICore . . . so, for an interesting read

StrangeBrewMOO's IP address changed again last weekend, so I made the appropriate fix in the MultiMOO Database. (Their DNS address is still indefinitely fecked, however.)

Hiya,

Right, I've been busy updating the webbed mailing lists today, and here's the news.

You can read the mailing lists on the web, http://feck.ml.org:9990/

BUT, here's the cool thing. If you give a link (Like the one to craggy MOO above) then on the web, it becomes an embedded link! Yay!

Try it. Make sure that the http:// is either on a separate line, or that the address is one word on it's own. No leading with .....'s

Okay, here's the score, I've written a HTML front end for
40send. You can now send mail to any player / mailing list via the internet!
It's all self explainatory really, go to the address and you'll see what I mean.

**Note: Mail sent in this way will be appended with a disclaimer pointing out that it came from outside the DB.

Decided to see what it's like to be productive this evening. It was fun for a bit.

Updated the following entries in the MultiMOO DB: WorldMOO, RiverMOO, StrangeBrewMOO

At that point, I went out of my freakin' mind and fulfilled Swatcat's long-standing request by deleting the entry for DiscMOO and updating the entry for RingMOO. I sincerely apologize. ;)

Subject: Guests

Hiya.

I have (finally) got around to modifying the guests confunc() and do_reset(). Now, when people log in as guests, they can pick their own character name, rather than using the ones we give ;)

Here's the finer details:

When they connect, they get asked for a name, this is read() into confunc, and checked against $player_db. If all checks out, the original .name is stored in .old_name, and the guests name changed with '[Guest]' added to the end.. When this is done, :set_aliases sets the alias of the guest to the new name.

When the guest disconnects, the .name is set to .old_name. Old_name is cleared, and set_aliases() reverts the aliases of the guest to the original name. (On #94 it also adds the alias 'guest' so that people can log in ;))

So, there ya go.

InterMOO Productions proudly present.....

InterMOO portals! Yep ;)

These seem to be rooms, but when you connect to them, you're asked for a password and name, you're then connected to this MOO, and it's like you've moved there...

At the moment, you can't do anything on the local MOO when you're connected elseMOO. But, I'll think of somehthing ;)

So, wander around the MOO, and find a gateway. I'll give you a clue: They're all near the start of the map (#61)

Oh, and you can just type 'guest' to log in as a guest if you don't have a character.

Yay! Craggy Sprawl!!

Also, guests logins are public in their descriptions now. I was asked to do this by Si, who I believe has been getting hassle.

So, there ya go ;)

After a conversation with Si, and the fact that I've not written anything 'fun' for a while, I present to you, the Craggy Island Hotlist Feature!

Hotlists are like Top Ten lists. Players can add a list, and the public can add to it. Then, when the time on the list runs out, OR it reaches 10 items, it's closed and mailed to a mailing list.

So, you need to do 3 things.
